SSAC & SSWG

The mission of the Safe Schools Advisory Council (SSAC) and Safe Schools Working Group (SSWG) is to collaborate on the development of training opportunities and delivery of technical assistance to local educational agencies to assist them in developing and implementing high-quality Emergency Operations Plans. Since June of 2015, this volunteer group has provided subject-matter expertise, outreach, and other resources to further the objective of improving emergency preparedness and response in New Mexico’s schools. In November of 2023, the first New Mexico State Safety Summit is taking place and will include national and state speakers, presentations, and support for numerous local, state, and federal agencies.
