Remembering Dr. Karen Trujillo
The New Mexico Public Education Department honors the life and legacy of Las Cruces Superintendent and former Secretary of Education, Dr. Karen Trujillo. We wish to extend our deepest sympathies from our family to hers. To know her, was to love and be inspired by her endless joy and fierce dedication to improving outcomes for New Mexico’s children. Karen Trujillo was a friend to many and an advocate for all. Her passion for kids and her kindness were her gifts to all in New Mexico. May her memory continue to shine brightly across our schools and communities. En paz descanze.

ENGAGE New Mexico
For many students, going from a traditional classroom to learning from home can be a real challenge. New Mexico’s Public Education Department has partnered with Graduation Alliance to provide an extra layer of support for students in grades k-12 and their families who might be struggling with these changes.
Students will get an academic coach to work with them to answer questions, connect them with resources, and develop a plan to get on track and finish the school year strong.
ENGAGE New Mexico is completely free to students. To get started, sign up here or call us at 505-340-3250.
