Elevate NM in 2024-25
For the 2024-25 school year, the New Mexico Public Education Department (NMPED) and Educator Growth and Development have implemented new changes and expectations for Elevate NM, the state’s teacher evaluation system which are included in this memo. Elevate NM is based on Danielson’s framework. More information is available in the Additional Resources section below. CALIBRATION FOR SITE ADMINISTRATORS
All site administrators who conduct evaluations of instructional staff must earn an Elevate NM Calibration Certificate every two school years per NMAC. Calibration training consists of targeted learning opportunities to support the evaluation of teachers. NMPED is comprehensively supporting calibration training efforts so that administrators complete the course by the 3rd week in September.
What is the time commitment for Calibration Certification?
The online calibration course is self-paced and will take less than three hours to complete. Successful completion is indicated by earning a digital badge.
How do I register for Calibration Certification?
Administrators who are new to Elevate NM will reach out to the NMPED Liaison contact teacher.evaluation@ped.nm.gov to initiate their Elevate NM account credentials and enrollment needs.
What kind of support is available for Administrators?
Office hours will continue to be held regularly throughout the school year. Customized support, according to the site administrator’s schedule, will also be available 2024-25 Elevate NM Live Support. Please contact NMPED Elevate NM Liaison, teacher.evaluation@ped.nm.gov for your training needs.
COURSE MANAGER SUPPORTS
Course Manager Certification Course
All individuals who are designated as the Course Managers for their LEA are required to complete an annual training beginning 2024-25. The online Canvas training will be self-paced, support the roles and responsibilities of the Course Manager and take less than 30 minutes to complete. NMPED recommends that the designated Course Managers will have the training completed by the last week in June 2024. Enrollment is supported by Educator Growth and Development.
