School Improvement and Transformation Updates
With the release of NM Vistas 2024, we proudly celebrate the schools that have exited school improvement designations. We encourage these schools to continue refining their practices to further improve outcomes for our children.
Fund 24190 Updates November 2024
Districts and schools that received Title I School Improvement Funding (Fund 24190) based on the 2023 NM Vistas designations will retain these funds for the 2024-2025 school year. However, schools are not eligible to receive funding for years two and three.
For changes to existing budgets, school are required to complete the budget amendment form. All sections of this amendment must be completed and submitted at least 30 days prior to the proposed change and no later than 30 days before the project’s termination date. Amendment requests must be approved in writing by an authorized representative of the NMPED Priority Schools Bureau before implementation.
School Improvement and Transformation Monitoring: Middle of Year and End of Year
Schools identified as MRI and CSI will receive the SIT-M MOY and EOY site visits. Schools that have exited status and received a SIT-M BOY are not required to participate in the continuing site visits. If a school/LEA wishes to continue in the SIT-M process for the remainder of the 2024-2025 school year, please email your School Improvement and Transformation point of contact or Elisabeth Peterson.
Schools identified as Additional Targeted Support and Improvement (ATSI) and Targeted Support and Improvement (TSI) in NM Vistas 2024, will transition into School Improvement and Transformation Monitoring (SIT-M). These schools will receive an initial School Support and Readiness Assessment (SSRA), as well as a SIT-M this year, if they have not already participated in 2023-2024.
School Improvement and Transformation Professional Learning
Schools exiting status that have been participating in the SIT Professional Learning sessions one and two, are invited to attend the final session in March 2025.
