Every New Mexican has a vested interest in education — whether you are a student, parent, teacher, or community leader, the education system responsible for preparing tomorrow’s leaders matters. Our goal is to provide all stakeholders (educators, families, students, and community members) with accurate information regarding educational policies implemented to make a positive difference for our kids and empower everyone to participate in the dialogue about improving education.
Current Events
Applications are being accepted through May 31, 2021 for the Secretary’s Community Advisory and the State Ambassadors Program. These leadership programs give our stakeholders the opportunity to have a voice in New Mexico’s PK-12 public education programming and initiatives.
The Secretary’s Advisory demonstrates a commitment to engaging with our communities and those most directly impacted by the work of the PED. Please use the navigation bar on the right to access advisory information and the application.
The Ambassadors are solutions-oriented teachers who want to further the progress of the profession by learning about state policy, advocating for teacher growth opportunities and supporting the teacher pipeline of highly-qualified professionals. Please click on NM Leader Network on the right navigation bar to access information and the application.
