39 staff members, 13 students tested positive
SANTA FE – The Public Education Department on Oct. 30 announced 52 new positive cases of COVID-19 in the last 24 hours. Rapid response has been initiated, and all pertinent information has been verified with the schools and school districts. The following new cases have been reported:
Four cases in Bernalillo County. Three of the infected individuals are staff members who were last on school property Oct. 14, 21, and 23. The other infected individual is a student who was last on campus Sept. 15.
Two cases in Chaves County. Both of the infected individuals are staff members who were last on school property Oct. 21 and 26.
Two cases in Cibola County. Both of the infected individuals are students who were last on campus Oct. 22.
Four cases in Curry County. Two of the infected individuals are staff members who were last on school property Oct. 22 and 26. The other two infected individuals are students who were last on campus Oct. 5 and 13.
Twelve cases in Doña Ana County. All of the infected individuals are staff members who were last on school property Sept. 14 and 16, and Oct. 14, 16, 19, 20, 22, 23 and 28.
Two cases in Eddy County. Both of the infected individuals are staff members who were last on school property Oct. 22 and 23.

Staff must be tested if symptomatic or a “close contact;” however, staff members will not be required to present a negative test result in order to return to work. NMPED COVID-19 update: Confirming 12 new positive cases across New Mexico’s public schools
Eight staff members, four students tested positive
SANTA FE – The Public Education Department on Sept. 28 announced 12 new positive cases of COVID-19 in the last 72 hours. Rapid response has been initiated, and all pertinent information has been verified with the schools and school districts. The following new cases have been reported:
Three cases in Chaves County. Two of the infected individual are staff members who were last on campus Sept. 14 and Sept. 22. Additionally, one student tested positive and was last on campus on Sept. 15. All staff members and the parents and guardians of all students in the affected school have been notified of the positive cases.
One case in Cibola County. The infected individual is a staff member who was last on school property Sept. 25. All close contacts within the district and parents and guardians of all students who had contact with this person have been notified of the positive case.
One case in Colfax County. The infected individual is a student who was last on school property Sept. 21. All staff members and the parents and guardians of all students in the affected schools have been notified of the positive cases.
One case in Eddy County. The infected individual is a staff member who was last on school property Sept. 22. All staff members and the parents and guardians of all students in the affected school have been notified of the positive case.
Two cases in Lincoln County. One infected individual is a staff member who was last on school property Sept. 25. The other is a student who was last on school property Sept. 18. One case in Bernalillo County. The infected individual is a staff member who was last on campus Sept. 18. The school is in the remote learning mode. All staff members and the parents and guardians of all students in the affected school have been notified of the positive case.
Four cases in three schools in Chaves County. Two infected individuals are staff member at separate schools and were last on school property Sept. 18 and Sept. 15. One individual is a staff member unaffiliated with a particular school but involved in a district-wide program. This person was last on school property Sept. 21. The fourth Chaves County case is a student who was last on school property Sept. 15. All staff members and the parents and guardians of all students in the affected schools have been notified of the positive cases.
One case in Curry County. The infected individual is a staff member not assigned to a specific school but involved in a district-wide program. This person was last on school property Sept. 24. All close contacts within the district and parents and guardians of all students who had contact with this person have been notified of the positive case.

SANTA FE – Beginning Tuesday, September 15, 2020, the Public Education Department will publish daily case updates regarding the number of positive school-related COVID-19 cases in New Mexico. New cases will be reported as of today (for the prior 24-hour period), marking one week from the start of hybrid learning in some districts.
The Public Education Department on September 15 announced five new positive cases of COVID-19 in the last 24hrs, after implementing a rapid response and verifying all pertinent information with the schools and school districts. The following new cases were confirmed:
One case at a public school in Chaves County. The infected individual is a student. The infected student was last in the school building on Friday, September 11, 2020. All staff members and the parents and guardians of all students in the affected school have been notified of the positive case.
One case at a public school in Bernalillo County. The infected individual is a staff member. The infected individual was last in the school building on August 28, 2020. All staff members and the parents and guardians of all students in the affected school have been notified of the positive case.
One case at a public school in Colfax County. The infected individual is a student. The infected student was last in the school building on September 14, 2020. All staff members and the parents and guardians of all students in the affected school have been notified of the positive case.
One case at a public school in Santa Fe County. The infected staff member was last in the school building on September 4, 2020. All staff members and the parents and guardians of all students in the affected school have been notified of the positive case.
