As the Public Education Department makes continued efforts to respond to Covid-19 closures, the Professional Licensure Bureau is preparing to launch an online licensure application and payment system. The new system will allow constituents to apply for and renew all types of licenses, make payments, and track the status of their application from anywhere, on any device that has access to a web browser. At this time, all licensure applications have been removed from our website in an attempt to discourage applicants from leaving their home to obtain cashier’s checks and money orders and in preparation for the online release.
Continue to visit our website for the most up to date information on this transition including the user manual and FAQs.
We will be ready for launch early next week.
Please note that PED offices, including the Professional Licensure Bureau, are currently closed to the public.
Attention: The Professional Licensure Bureau has moved to their new location at the Jerry Apodaca Building, 300 Don Gaspar, Room 103, Santa Fe, NM 87501
Beginning January 1, 2020, New Mexico Public Education Department will allow educators seeking licensure to take either the current NES Tests developed by Pearson or the Praxis tests developed by ETS through August 31, 2020 (LIST OF EXAMS).
On September 1, 2020, the department will only offer Praxis tests for licensure.
