Licensure Updates

The PDD submission period begins July 15, 2022, at 12:01 am, and will remain open until 11:59 pm, March 31, 2023.  The window for resubmissions will open April 1, 2023, at 12:01 am, and will remain open until 11:59 pm, April 28, 2023.

We Need You (To Be a Substitute Teacher)! – New Mexico Public Education Department (state.nm.us) LINK

All personnel required to hold NMPED licensure must have an appropriately cleared background submitted for the NMPED code TEACHER LICENSURE ORI # NM920140Z, before entering the virtual and/or in-person. School employment backgrounds may not be submitted in lieu of the required licensure background. Apply, pay and track your digital application status online in the new licensure portal. Paper applications will be returned to the sender.  To obtain a copy of your license please login to your portal account to download/save and print.

Disqualifying Conditions 

The following criminal convictions under the New Mexico Criminal Code could constitute grounds for denial of an application for licensure issued by the Public Education Department.
