From Friday 8.7.2020 at 12:00 PM through 8:00 AM on Tuesday 8.11.2020 the Licensure Application Portal will be unavailable for applicants and district staff as we migrate data to the new system. The system outage will not impact the ability to submit in the Dossier/OPAL Portal.
All renewal applications received by 6/30/2020 at 11:59 PM will receive a start date of 7/1/2020 once your application is reviewed by a consultant.
The NMPED Licensure Bureau stopped accepting paper applications on 5/1/2020. Any applications received in the mail will be returned to the applicant so they may apply online. Any paper application we receive with a postmark of 6/30/2020 will receive a 7/1/2020 start date. If you have mailed in an application between 5/1/2020 and today please complete your online application immediately.
Paper applications received after May 1st will be returned.

As of May 1, 2020 all Licensure Applications and processing fees are accepted online only. COVID-19 Update: Many of the New Mexico- based Pearson owned testing centers and Praxis testing centers are open for in person testing with social distancing measures in place. Praxis is offering many of its tests to be taken at home. For information on Praxis at home tests, please click here. Currently NMPED is accepting either NES/Pearson or Praxis tests. The deadline to complete exams offered through NMTA & NES has been extended through December 21, 2020. Registration is available at NMTA (New Mexico Teacher Assessments) and NES (National Evaluation Series) by Pearson.
