The department supports and encourages school food authorities to incorporate New Mexico-grown, – raised or -processed products into child nutrition programs.
New Mexico Grown is a program that works with local farmers, ranchers, and food businesses. By creating connections between New Mexico Grown producers and K-12 schools, communities are able to
- purchase foods closer to their source,
- support health and self-reliance,
- engage in food and nutrition education.
