The program extends the school year for K–5 by 25 instructional days beginning before school starts. The K–5 Plus program provides funding for additional educational time for students in kindergarten through fifth grade in elementary schools. K–5 Plus must be offered school wide and teachers and cohorts are required to remain together for the remainder of the school year after the K-5 Plus program.
